As a new semester begins, the scholars of Huayao Collegiate continue their steady journey toward their dreams, advancing with confidence and purpose. With early admission results for Fall 2025 U.S. undergraduate applications rolling in, the High School Department at HC is buzzing with excitement as acceptance letters arrive one after another!

A standout achievement comes from Charlotte Wang, a proud member of the Class of 2025, who has been accepted into New York University’s Biomolecular Science program. This well-earned success not only recognizes Charlotte’s years of dedication and perseverance but also reflects the impact of Huayao Collegiate’s holistic education philosophy—fostering academic excellence through personalized learning pathways and equipping scholars with world-class resources to thrive.

Looking back on Charlotte's high school years at Huayao Collegiate, it was during this time that she transformed from a medical enthusiast into a novice in biological research. Upon her initial enrollment, although Charlotte had a strong interest in medicine and biological sciences, her direction was unclear. Under the personalized cultivation system, she gradually built up a comprehensive understanding of life sciences through a curriculum framework that combined depth in fundamental sciences with breadth across interdisciplinary fields (some of her elective courses include AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Psychology, AP Environmental Science, and ECP Chemistry).

With a strong sense of purpose, Charlotte sought to make academic breakthroughs beyond her coursework by actively participating in competition projects supported by the school. She earned regional honors in the HOSA competition and won a global gold medal in the British Biology Olympiad. Additionally, she took the lead in completing a paper titled "The Application of Gene Editing in Cellular Totipotency" as part of one Young Scholars Project, which was subsequently published in the Journal of Theoretical and Natural Sciences.

Even more commendable is Charlotte’s ability to translate academic excellence into meaningful social impact, embodying the true responsibility of a scholar. She has been an active participant in initiatives organized by the Shanghai Rende Foundation, dedicating her time as a volunteer in public welfare recycling, charity donations, and fundraising efforts. Through charity sales, she has contributed to life-changing surgeries for children from underprivileged families in China suffering from congenital heart disease.

Beyond her philanthropic work, Charlotte’s commitment to social responsibility extends to advocacy and education. As an enthusiastic member of the Human Rights Advocacy Platform for Youth (HRYA), she independently authored medical science articles, using her knowledge to raise public awareness of key public health issues.

Charlotte is more than just an accomplished researcher—she is a seeker of light, seamlessly blending scientific rigor with deep compassion for humanity. She stands as a true reflection of Huayao Collegiate’s holistic education philosophy, where intellectual curiosity and social consciousness go hand in hand.

May they continue to pursue their dreams with courage and confidence, illuminating the path ahead with their brilliance.
